Passive Gear When it comes to equipment, weapons are just once piece of the puzzle. Making sure one's survivors has the appropriate gear equipped allows for increased team optimization that can mean the difference between life and death. Passive gear comes in many forms and can effect nearly every aspect of the survivor's performance. Some particularly specialized gear items are restricted to certain survivor classes, while others are only intended to be used with certain weapon types. Using a weapon with an incompatible gear type nullifies any bonus that would apply to the weapon, but maintains anything else. I.E. using a Lucky Holster with a melee will not increase the weapon's damage, but the bonuses from the Lucky condition will still take effect. Gear Conditions Gears have the possibility of coming with various Conditions that applies modifiers to their stats. Most stat applications are positive, but some have a neutral or negative effect. A gear can only have up to two of such modifiers. Which modifiers are applied determines the quality of the item. Glasses Personnel working in the in Dead Zone may find that their base visual acuity is insufficient for containment operations in the field. Eyewear in the form of  Glasses feature framed corrective lenses aids the wearer in keeping their vision clear by focusing light and filtering out excess glare. Operators needing to maximize the range at which they can engage the enemy will find great use of such equipment. How to Obtain: It can be scavenged during Level 5+ missions. Crafting: The weapon can be upgraded up to Level 21. Level 5 Shooting variants can be crafted using 2 Small Machined Parts , 2 Lenses and 1 Frame at a Level 2+ Gear Bench for 3 . Level 10 Clear Polarized variants can be crafted using 7 Small Machined Parts, 2 Lenses and 1 Frame at a Level 3+  Gear Bench for 12   (after scavenging the required schematic ) (also requires a Level 10+ Engineer ). Level 14 Clear Shooting variants can be crafted using 20 Small Machined Parts, 2 Lenses and 1 Frame at a Level 5+  Gear Bench for 17   (after scavenging the required schematic ). Level 18 Clear Sun variants can be crafted using 13 Small Machined Parts, 2 Lenses and 1 Frame at a Level 7+  Gear Bench for 22   (after scavenging the required schematic ). Recycling Products: Fastener x 1 Pocket x 1 Heavy Fabric x Variable (dependent on the item's Level and attachments/conditions) ITEM BRIEF: Field tests show that the carrying abilities of one's casual clothing proves insufficient in retrieving ammunition when needed during the high-stake operations in the Dead Zone. A dedicated pouch greatly improves the speed at which personnel can reload their firearm in the face of danger. TACTICS: Reports show that independent parties operating in the central, low danger areas of the Dead Zone often use to ease in reloading their weapons. Survivors in the vicinity are often restricted in the weaponry they have available, and may employ such gear to aid in keeping the limited firepower they have to any degree possible.  The combat effect of this equipment only extends to projectile weapons. Operators working in supportive fields will also see less benefit to using one as opposed to gear that improves performance in their specialty.  The need for more expedited reloading remains a pressing concern once forages are made deeper in the city, and more efficient gear in the respect are now being found as Bandoliers. Bandolier How to Obtain: It can be scavenged during Level 12+ missions. Crafting: This item can be upgraded up to Level 21. Level 11 Quality Military variants can be crafted using 14 Heavy Fabric , 6 Straps , 8 Pockets , 10 Fasteners , and 40 Threads at a Level 2+  Gear Bench for 19 (after scavenging the required schematic ) . Level 12 Quality Civilian variants can be crafted using 8 Heavy Fabric, 5 Straps, 10 Pockets, 10 Fasteners, and 20 Threads at a Level 4+ Gear Bench for 15 (after scavenging the required schematic) . Level 13 Police variants can be crafted using 4 Heavy Fabric, 5 Straps, 10 Pockets, 10 Fasteners, and 20 Threads at a Level 6+ Gear Bench for  8 (after scavenging the required schematic) . Level 16 Quality Crafted variants can be crafted using 12 Heavy Fabric, 5 Straps, 10 Pockets, 10 Fasteners, and 20 Threads at a Level 5+ Gear Bench for 20 (after scavenging the required schematic) . Level 18 Military variants can be crafted using 6 Heavy Fabric, 5 Straps, 10 Pockets, 10 Fasteners, and 20 Threads at a Level 8+ Gear Bench for  11 (after scavenging the required schematic) . Level 19 Quality Military variants can be crafted using 26 Heavy Fabric, 10 Straps, 20 Pockets, 20 Fasteners, and 40 Threads at a Level 7+ Gear Bench for  33 (after scavenging the required schematic) . Level 20 Quality Police variants can be crafted using 4 Heavy Fabric, 5 Straps, 10 Pockets, 10 Fasteners, and 20 Threads at a Level 8+ Gear Bench for 25 (after scavenging the required schematic) . Recycling Products: Fastener x 1 Pocket x 1 Strap x 1 Heavy Fabric x Variable (dependent on the item's Level and attachments/conditions) ITEM BRIEF: Bandoliers have seen long service in the armed forces, with records showing use back to the 16th century. Soldiers have always needed quick and efficient access to their ammunition, and bandoliers have historically been enablers for allowing such. Contemporary professional forces have since devised other methods of enabling small arms replenishment, but bandoliers are still seen in civilian hands for the purposes of hunting and recreational shooting.  TACTICS: Survivors that have ventured far enough in the city have gained access to bandoliers that have improved tactical utility over the Ammunition Pouches that are available earlier. The highest effect is experienced by survivors wielding a projectile weapon with a small magazine size or long reload time. In particular, single-shot weapons benefit greatly from an improved reload speed. Use with melee weapons should still be avoided, as it imparts no benefits. It can also be less beneficial to support classes like the  Scavenger and Medic , as opposed to other gear that is better suited to their specialty - the Hand Wrap/Gloves and First Aid Kit/Medical Kit, respectively.
