How to Obtain:

• It can be scavenged during Level 14+ missions.
  

Crafting:

• The weapon can be upgraded up to level 19.
• Level 16 Compensated Modified variants can be crafted using an UMP-45 and 24 Machined Parts at a Level 6+ Weapons Bench for 20 (after scavenging the required schematic) (also requires a Level 16+ Engineer and Scavenger)
• Level 19 Suppressed variants can be crafted using an UMP-45, 8 Machined Parts and a Pipe at a Level 9+ Weapons Bench for 11 (after scavenging the required schematic)

Overview:

PROS:
- Decent Damage
- Low Ammo Cost (vs other SMGs)
- Fully-Automatic
- Large Magazine

CONS:
- Reloads Slowly (vs other SMGs)
- Inaccurate
- Short Effective Range
- Low RoF (vs other SMGs)

TACTICS:
Packing a powerful punch for a SMG, the UMP-45 is decent in all other categories. Its RoF and accuracy are lower compared to its predecessor, the PDW-M, but this is compensated for by its higher damage per shot. It's an effective weapon, though not to the same degree as the assault rifles.
Recommended gear:
- Ammunition Mods increase the UMP's already decent damage.
- Extended Mags allows it to fire more rounds before having to reload. Some variants will also speed up its reloads.
- Glasses increases its low effective range, with some variants increasing accuracy as well.

BACKGROUND:
The flagship model of the UMP series that was intended to succeed the MP5. While it has not supplanted its respected predecessor (due largely to its harsh recoil), this weapon remains one of the few modern submachine guns designed to fire the hard-hitting .45 ACP round, and thus continues to see service around the world.
Deployed by law enforcement agencies and specialized military units.
