TACTICS:
The R-500 can be treated as an improved version AE-50. Infected encountered when wielding this weapon that aren't neutralized with the first shot will likely be easily killed by supportive fire or a second shot. However, its small magazine and short range require supportive gear for effective use.
Recommended gear:
- Glasses increases the effective engage range of the weapon.
- Extended Mags/Bandoilers/Carriers Harnesses to delay or expedite the reloading process.
- Ammunition Mods to further increase the very potent ballistic effect of the weapon's bullets.
- Shooting Gloves and Shooting Vests to near ensure hits on target and increase the effective damage dealt without consuming additional ammunition resources.
- Holsters give the weapon the ability to rapidly dispatch infected targets with minimal effort.

BACKGROUND:
This weapon was designed for the Police Pistol Combat shooting competition, featuring a heavy barrel to reduce the recoil from its high-powered .500 caliber rounds. It combines precision adjustable sights and a light trigger pull, making it one of the most accurate and powerful revolvers in civilian ownership before the outbreak.
Its price has limited availability to select firearm distributors in North America, but decreased regulation following the loss of social order have resulted in the weapon resurfacing in certain high-danger areas.
