TACTICS:
Testing trials show that operators using this weapon should employ it in a manner similar to other low-output, high-impact shotgun platforms rather than an high throughput strategy its automatic nature would suggest. The weapon's small magazine, high accuracy, low rate of fire and stopping power gives it similarities to the Marion's Trident found in the hands of rogue survivors in the city. While this shotgun has high impact and knockback commonplace amongst shotguns, its small and slowly reloaded magazine warrants support, whether from longer-ranged weapons or from melee weapons.
Recommended gear:
- Ammunition Mods further improve the weapon's ability to incapacitate targets, maximizing the use of each magazine.
- Bandoliers decrease the amount the time the wielder is vulnerable after depleting the magazine.
- Extended Mags allow the weapon to be used for longer before necessitating the reloading process.

WEAPON BRIEF:
One of the many Kalashnikov variant proliferate in the Dead Zone; this time designed to fire 12-gauge shotgun rounds. This lethal weapon comes in various models that have been used for everything from subsistence hunting of deer to dispatching enemy agents in urban areas - both domestic and abroad.
Demographics such as recreational shooters, and some law enforcement and private security companies have employed this weapon to great effect.

Variations:

The Saiga-12 has no modular variations.
