How to Obtain:

It can be scavenged during Level 10+ missions.

Crafting:

The weapon can be upgraded up to Level 15.
Level 15 variants can be crafted using a Shotgun and 1 Saw Blade at a Level 7+ Weapons Bench for 7 (after scavenging the required schematic).

Overview:

PROS:
- High Damage

- Reloads Quickly (vs other Shotguns)

CONS:
- Small Magazine (lowest of all Shotguns)
- Short Effective Range

TACTICS:
The Sawn Off shotgun is powerful weapon capable of killing or heavily wounding most infected with just a single shot. Its single-shot power is compensated by the fact that it only has two shots before needing to reload, though that is done relatively quickly. Combined with its short effective range, however, it is very likely that its operator will end up swarmed if they are deployed alone.
Recommended gear:
- Ammunition Pouch/Bandoliers expedites the reloading process that will be common in the field.
- Glasses improve the engage range of the weapon, with some variants increasing the wearer's ability to hit the targets they aim at.

WEAPON BRIEF:
The outbreak has prompted civilian populations to engage in previously illegal methods of firearm modification. The already widespread shotguns provides a suitable platform for alterations, and many units are seen is what is colloquially known as the "Lupara" design. The shortened, side-by-side layout is lends it increased chances of strike a target, but also reduces its effectiveness at further engage ranges.
