How to Obtain:
- It can be scavenged during Level 4+ missions.
Crafting:
- The weapon can be upgraded up to Level 9.
- A Level 5 Long Barrel variant can be obtained by completing the Ivan The Trader task.
- Level 7 Extended Choked variants can be crafted using a Shotgun and 4 Machined Parts at a Level 3+ Weapons Bench for 4
(after scavenging the required schematic). - Level 9 Quiet Quick Load variants can be crafted using a Shotgun and 14 Machined Parts at a Level 3+ Weapons Bench for 5 (after scavenging the required schematic).
- Level 11 Quiet Quick Action variants can be crafted using a Shotgun, 35 Machined Parts, 1 Fore-end, 1 Trigger System, 1 Barrel and 10 Rivets at a Level 3+ Weapons Bench for 19 (after scavenging the required schematic) (also requires a Level 11+ Engineer).

TACTICS:
The standard Shotgun is likely to be the first shotgun an operator deployed to the Dead Zone obtains. It is a large improvement over the handguns available previously encountered. However, its poor performance in aspects other than stopping power and knockback means it should be used as part of a team, where its wielder supports and is supported by the other operators.
Recommended gear:
- Ammunition Mods increases the ballistic performance of the weapon.
- Ammunition Pouch/Bandoliers decreases the amount of time the weapon's operator will spend reloading.
- Extended Mags increases the staying power of the weapon.
- Glasses remedies the weapon's short engagement range, with some variants improving the wielder's ability to strike their target.
WEAPON BRIEF:
The basic tube-fed shotgun is used to great effect by civilian, security, and military forces all over the North American continent. Its presence is only more proliferate since the outbreak started, giving it high availability rates for acquirement and spare parts. The most widespread designs are typically shorter variants, allowing for better maneuverability in the residential areas of the now-infected city, but sacrifices engagement range and ammo capacity.
